There’s nothing quite as relaxing on a weekend than a spot of cooking and a lazy day in front of the television. That’s why we are such fans of ITV Saturday Cookbook, a delightful mix of the two! And we’re rather chuffed as they seem to be fans of us too.

We’ve got to admit that we are creatures of habit. We like cornflakes on a weekday, and scrambled eggs at the weekend. We can’t have a scone without jam, or a bowl of porridge without a very generous drizzle of honey. But it’s about time we tried something new, and where better to start than our next trip away? No more dusty bed and breakfasts for us. We’re rather taken by The Yurt at Harptree Court . It would certainly be a novel way to spend at least a weekend. Very posh boiled eggs

We’ve always rather liked eggs: scrambled, poached, or boiled and popped into one of our egg cups. So we were intrigued to hear that Fabergé have hidden 200 of their iconic eggs all over London as part of their Big Egg Hunt. Each one has been designed by a different artist, and all the money raised will go to Action for Children and Elephant Family. This one by Sir Peter Blake is our favourite, does it look familiar to you?

Clandestine Cake Club

Eating cake isn’t half as much fun when you’re on your own. You might feel a tad silly commenting on how lovely and moist, or horrible and dry a sponge is to yourself.

If you are lacking in chums as enthusiastic as you, help is at hand! The Clandestine Cake Club organises cake clubs all over the country in secret locations where you can bake, eat, and talk about cake. Sounds like our kind of club!

Wedding present inspiration

We try terribly hard to be organised, but almost every wedding we go to, we tend to leave looking at the wedding gift list until the day before. So the happy couple have to make do with whatever is left. Usually a sorry looking hand towel and miscellaneous cutlery, or something awfully expensive. 5 star wedding suggest our couple of mugs, which might not be on the list, but they are sure not to be forgotten.

Usually in January you have to exercise a little restraint after the indulgence of December, but it doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to a little bit of what you like. And what better excuse than our January sale?

Our sale has a variety of lovely collections, that you might not be able to get your hands on again. Some are bits that we’ll now stop making, and some we stopped making a little while ago, so it’s a super chance to pick up some real old gems. We’ll also be selling a few of our factory seconds.
